Open a branch of the Asbury Park Library on the West Side
The Asbury Park Library, located on the East Side of the city, is a valuable resource for students as well as residents of all ages. Current library resources include a community bulletin board, free and low-cost books for sale, copy machine and scanner, free computer use with internet access, and special events. Observations show low participation of West Side residents and youth. Bringing a satellite location, either full-time or as a “pop-up” that occurs weekly in a certain location, would greatly improve access to the library’s many resources and services and provide another safe and productive place for youth to spend time after school hours.
