Expand summer programming to bridge gap in school year and minimize the “summer slide”

Parents expressed a concern over students losing some of the knowledge they had learned the previous year and starting the new school year less prepared than they should be. Expanding summer learning opportunities and increasing awareness about existing programs will help students come back to school ready to build on previous knowledge.
